Summary:
PG&E announced the decommissioning of the Scott Dam and Cape Horn Dam, removing a major water source for our local Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino County. This will further create water shortages for 600,000 residents including many agricultural communities and farms. Should farms have water shortages this will create additional hardships on these farms, which in turn can hinder your food system.
How to Help:
The comment period for this action was open until March 3rd, but your comments in opposition to this kind of decommissioning can still have an impact on our representatives. We need to find a solutions that won’t create a detrimental end for us farmers, our local communities and our food system.
